What’s in a picture? Using images to develop children’s understanding of the past

​In this session we will explore how children view and interpret historical images. We will
investigate a range of practical activities which use pictures to help children develop their
understanding of the past. How can images help children make connections between the
past and the present, acknowledge different interpretations and understand key concepts
such as historical significance?
