In the past, many educators have suggested the only way to teach to the reading, vocabulary and writing expectations at Key Stage 2 has been through the use of chapter books. However, with some of our learners, pages full of words are often disengaging, demotivating and often scary.
This creative workshop will focus on how the use of picture books, or books with small amounts of text, can be used to inspire pupils to produce high quality non-fiction writing. The workshop will cover how to draw out a variety of non-fiction genres from a fictional picture book. (For ages 5 - 11)
