Limited Capacity full

Despite the vast creative range that we encounter every day in our English classes, sometimes our conversations in the classroom can get stuck in Q & A mode: “What does that line mean?” “What does that metaphor mean?”

Within this workshop, we will rejuvenate our approaches to teaching English. Through the use of writing-based strategies, we will creatively enter into dialogue with different texts and ideas. In doing so, we will create poetry, dramatic dialogues, and visual representations, just to name a few, in order to process and engage the literature that we will encounter in the workshop. In doing so, we will practice strategies by which we can tap into our students’ creativity and thereby heighten student engagement and excitement about learning.

**Participants in this session should bring a notebook and writing utensil.
